After directing her first short film at 16, Shannon Lark kickstarted her film career with fictional narratives, low budget commercials, and short form documentaries. She gained education while predominantly working out in the field in the San Francisco Bay Area: assisting film crews in-between shots when she was cast as an actress on productions.
Over the span of 15 years she learned how to effectively write, direct, and produce her own films, cultivating a particular style and vision for the stories she wants to tell, and how she wants to tell them. Lark’s extensive body of work has been exhibited at hundreds of festivals, screenings, and retrospectives and she has garnered over 160 laurels, 14 awards, and 6 nominations. She is also a recognized screenwriter by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Lark is the co-founder of Double Exposure and is currently in development of her feature debut with filmmaker Lori Bowen.
