“It’s not about doing a job, it’s about being a good human.” - Shannon Lark
Raised by parents who served those with disabilities, Lark is a humanitarian who believes in the power of kindness, and the positive effect non-profit organizations have in the community.
A strong advocate of the underdog, Lark spent 7 years of her life founding and advancing the Viscera Organization, a 501(c)3 non-profit that assisted female genre filmmakers (action, horror, sci-fi, fantasy). Viscera provided a network of opportunities while educating the public domestically and internationally about the importance of women behind the lens.
Exhibited in more than a dozen countries, assisting hundreds of female filmmakers, and reaching 6000 spectators, Viscera was the longest running, most prestigious, and most effective festival and organization dedicated to women in genre film in all of history.
Lark is currently in early development on a new venture that focuses on serving those who are experiencing homelessness in metropolitan areas.
